Westview's Inpatient Therapy program features a highly-trained and knowledgeable staff of professionals who take pride in providing patients with a full spectrum of physical, occupational and speech rehabilitation services.

We are committed to helping patients of all ages attain independence and improved quality of life - from the athlete recovering from a sports injury, to the person with a chronic condition, or the patient on the mend after knee replacement surgery.

Our therapists provide educational, hands-on techniques and exercises that are customized to treat each individual's injury or condition.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy focuses on reducing pain and restoring function while improving range of motion and mobility by means of therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and assistive devices following surgery, injury or disease. Westview’s 2500 square foot Outpatient Therapy wing offers a multitude of modality options including state-of-the-art exercise equipment, a fully functional kitchen area as well as a HydroWorx 500 Professional Series Therapy Pool.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy focuses on enabling patients regain their ability to perform the various activities of daily living or work skills following a surgery, injury or disease by improving range of motion, basic motor skills and cognitive/emotional abilities. Westview’s occupational therapy team is dedicated to helping patients regain independence, become more productive and improve their quality of lives by means of customized assessments and treatments with adaptive equipment.

Speech Therapy

Speech and language pathology focuses on the treatment of speech, language and communication issues, as well as swallowing, drinking or eating difficulties. Arising from a range of causes, including congenital problems and disorders after an injury or stroke, Westview’s speech pathologists are trained and capable in the evaluation and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders.

Westview's Aquatic Therapy Pool is equipped with an underwater treadmill that provides a low impact option for physical and occupational therapy treatments to meet the needs of our active and aging populations.

Situated in Westview's courtyard, the multi-hole putting green is used to improve balance, rotation, eye-hand coordination, range of motion and many other benefits in assisting patients return to community activity.

LOCATION & ACCESS

Westview's state-of-the-art outpatient facilities are conveniently located at Westview Health Care Center, 150 Ware Road, Dayville, Connecticut.

Westview's Outpatient Therapy and Aquatic Center is available by appointment only, 7 days a week for your convenience.

PAYMENT METHODS

Medicare, private pay and most insurance plans accepted.

Phuong Nilo

Director of Therapies

Phuong has been providing care in both inpatient and outpatient settings since 1995. Her main areas of concentration are orthopedic, CVA, chronic illness and sports and performing arts-related injuries. If you have any questions or concerns relating to Outpatient and Aquatic Therapy Services, Phuong can be reached at 860-774-8574, ext. 116.

Amy Tirrell

Physical Therapist

Amy began her physical therapist career at Westview in 2012. As a physical therapist, Amy is responsible for determining each patient's plan of treatment by assessing individual goals and needs while implementing physical activities in order to improve range of motion and quality of life.

Jordan Morelli

Physical Therapist

Jordan began her physical therapist career at Westview in 2014. As a physical therapist, Jordan is responsible for determining each patient's plan of treatment by assessing individual goals and needs while implementing physical activities in order to improve range of motion and quality of life.

Dyann Ferraro

Occupational Therapist

Dyann began her occupational therapist career at Westview in 2008. As an occupational therapist, Dyann is dedicated to assisting patients with the movements and activities of daily life through means of physical therapy and environmental modifications in order to improve range of motion and overall quality of life.

Stephen Potter

Physical Therapist Assistant

Stephen began his physical therapist assistant career at Westview in 2014. Working under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist, his primary responsibilities include assisting in planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating physical therapy programs and activities within the facility.

Pam Bessenaire

Physical Therapist Assistant

Pam began her physical therapist career at Westview in 2004. Working under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist, her primary responsibilities include assisting in planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating physical therapy programs and activities within the facility.

Sue Geisser

Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

Sue began her occupational therapist assistant career at Wesview in 2013. Working under the direction and supervision of an occupational therapist, Sue is dedicated to assisting patients with the movements and activities of daily life through means of physical therapy and environmental modifications, as well as monitoring activities to ensure that they are performed correctly.
