Westview Lets the Good Times Roll

On February 17th 2015, residents, patients, staff, volunteers and visitors of Westview Health Care Center took the advice from the people of New Orleans and “Let the Good Times Roll” during their annual Mardi Gras celebration.

Brimming with flamboyant costumes, colorful décor, laughter and merriment, the alluring festivities were a sight to behold with seniors adorned in purple, green and gold hues of the Mardi Gras season.

As if the sights were not enough, attendees were treated to the sounds of duo Larry and Ellen Ruhl in We Got Rhythm. This dynamic duo is known for their Broadway, Hollywood, modern Vaudeville, classic American music. The stimulating show kept everyone at the edge of their seats with their fresh, fun and upbeat; and as they say “Swingin Toward the Jazzy” style.

“I enjoyed all the excitement and fanfare of the day’s event”, stated Vice President of Resident Council Genevieve Doran. “The Recreation Department at Westview throws such wonderful themed parties. They know how to capture the essence of tradition and celebration.”

Westview Health Care Center is a 103-bed skilled nursing inpatient facility, which includes a distinct and self-contained 28-bed subacute short-term rehabilitation unit and an Outpatient Rehabilitation and Aquatic Center, both dedicated to providing quality health care services. Along with garnering a perfect five star overall rating found on Medicare.gov Westview is proud to have received such accolades as US News and World Report America’s Best, Consumer Reports Top 10 Connecticut Nursing Facility rating and Health Grades 5-Star Top Ranking.
