DAYVILLE- On March 9th, 2007, Kerri Sauer, Director of Infection Control, Staff Development and Continuous Quality Improvement for Westview Health Care Center became Wound Care Certified through the National Alliance of Wound Care (NAWC).

The NAWC is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement and promotion of excellence in wound care through the certification of wound care practitioners in the United States. The certification provides an additional credential beyond the nurse's licensure and demonstrates by examination that the practitioner has acquired a core body of specialized knowledge.

This important mark of distinction displays proficiency and mastery of essential knowledge and skills in wound care management and will complement the quality of care that patients and residents already experience at the facility. Kerri will consult on wound and skin care, and as a direct care provider and educator will be a great resource for optimum patient outcomes.

Administrator David T. Panteleakos stated, "At Westview Health Care Center, our quality of care is a direct reflection of the quality of our staff. It is the on-going commitment to staff education and training that truly brings out the best in our employees. We are especially pleased with Kerri's accomplishment and look forward to her expertise and innovative methods enhancing the healing and quality of life for the residents and patients."
