The excellent care I received from the staff made me feel comfortable. The place was spotless. I had complete confidence in everyone. The staff put their heart and soul into each patient.

Special Tribute Paid to WWII Soldier, 106

DAYVILLE- On Tuesday, November 13, 2007, Westview Health Care Center honored the seventeen men and women of Westview who served in various branches of the military in a meaningful patriotic ceremony.

Organized by Westview Health Care Center's Recreation Department, the ceremony included comments from Administrator David T. Panteleakos who stated, "We honor all members of the Armed Forces who have protected our nation's freedom and quality of life. We are so appreciative of the sacrifice they have made and we are privileged to care for those individuals at Westview."

Members of the Albert J. Breault Post 1523 of Putnam, Carrol Harrington Barber Post 4908 of East Killingly and The Paul C. Houghton Marine Corps League Detachment 681 of Danielson provided a presentation of colors, and handed out American Flags and donated items to each Westview veteran.

Connecticut State Representative, Honorable Shawn T. Johnston of the 51st Assembly District presented a Citation from the State of Connecticut General Assembly to Henry Bernard, as he celebrates his 106th birthday on November 22nd as a WWII Army Veteran and a beloved member of the greatest generation.

The ceremony included singer Linda Colangelo who performed God Bless the USA and Semper Paratus, followed by patriotic melodies led by "The Re-Petes". To close the event, Taps was featured by buglar Pam Fillmore, Westview's Director of Recreation.
