"Game On! New England Football Press" is a full-page advertisement that ran on Superbowl Sunday, February 1, 2015: New England Patriots vs. Seattle Seahawks.
This advertisement was based upon the deluge of controversy and talking points surrounding the Patriots and the upcoming Superbowl. Included topics were: "Patriots haters", Coach Bill Belichick's persona, Rob Gronkowski's strength, the halftime show and deflate-gate.
One excerpt from the ad was an opinion piece titled "Smoke and Mirrors":
The two weeks leading up to the 49th annual football extravaganza have been anything but typical and jury is still out in regard to the culprit of the deflated football shenanigans.
Seattle sympathizers wish for us to believe that Belichick, Brady and President Obama are the nefarious rascals behind this vile skulduggery. Yet despite any official league ruling on the matter (nor any video evidence of any New England wrongdoing this year) the outlandish claims and maniacal media coverage have only helped to reveal itself for what it truly is - a brilliant marketing ploy by the No Fun League.
We should be investigating the much bigger and more offensive issue here: What 13-year-old girl is responsible for deciding this year's halftime show?
