There was no shortage of Christmas cheer during the weeks leading up to the big day of this holiday season at Westview Health Care Center.
Westview’s Recreation Department began their month-long holiday festivities with holiday crafts, Christmas movies and special activities including bazaars, games and their annual book sale.
As the weeks of December flew by the amount of singing and caroling increased. The halls of Westview were graced with the beautiful sounds of carolers including: the Salisbury carolers, Putnam Science Academy’s carolers, Brownie’s and Boy Scouts of America as well as Killingly High School’s “Jive”. Residents also gathered for an acoustic set of holiday music by local musician, Shaemus.
The excitement continued to build throughout the facility as the days before Christmas dwindled. The Recreation Department sold countless tickets for their annual Raffle. The prizes included artisanal gift baskets, gift certificates to local restaurants, a flat screen t.v. and a picture frame containing dozens of lottery scratch tickets among many others.
Christmas Eve day was no exception to the holiday excitement. Santa and Mrs. Claus made their annual visit to the residents and patients of Westview during their holiday party. The Christmas duo joined the celebration, mingling, jingling and adding laughter to a jolly good time.
