Press Release
O'Leary to Run Boston Marathon

Date
March 10, 2016

Westview Health Care Center proudly sponsors, supports and encourages Tiffany O’Leary, Physical Therapist at Westview, in the upcoming 2016 Boston Marathon on April 18, 2016.

O’Leary, with 22 years of running experience, qualified for the Boston Marathon in October 2014 after training diligently for three years. To mark the highlight of her running career, O’Leary has chosen to represent Team Limb-It-Less while raising funds for the Heather Abbott Foundation - a non-profit charity devoted to providing customized prosthetics for those affected by traumatic limb loss.

“I have chosen this charity for both personal and professional reasons,” stated O’Leary. “I am fundraising to improve someone’s quality of life; perhaps affording a child the opportunity to play with peers on a school soccer team, allowing a woman to regain her identity by again wearing high heels to work or perhaps making it possible for a lifelong runner impacted by traumatic limb loss to run again.”

As a physical therapist, O’Leary has witnessed firsthand the day-to-day challenges that people with amputations must face. Meager financial support for specialized prosthetics inspired O’Leary's decision to support a meaningful cause and help return a quality of life to people who have lived through debilitating trauma.

“Please consider supporting me as I continue to train and ready myself for the 120th Boston Marathon,” stated O’Leary. “ I hope to not only achieve this incredible life goal, but to make an impact on someone’s life who perhaps will learn to run again, because of your generosity.”
